No. Kirk's greatest impact came from the fact that he engaged in conversation even (especially?) with those who disagreed with him. His assassination is just one more example of how the victims of political violence actually end up being even stronger symbols and having even greater impact after their martyrdom.
There is nothing to be gained from political violence -- far greater to show we are reasonable and peaceful. As bad as some of the Leftist responses have been online and in the media, I've also seen responses from lifelong Democrats who have said they are done with the Democratic party after seeing those responses.
