Ive been out for 10 years.
Quick word of advice…. Coloradoans here are like what Californians were to Colorado 10 years ago.
Im sure anyone on this forum would be as close to an exception as possible, but the perception to other free states is real.
Did I mention that 30 round mags are at the checkout aisle at our grocery store?
    Good luck!

Good job jumping off the sinking ship!!!!! My family is getting closer and closer to making the exodus out of CO. Colorado is doomed, not only politically, but is also out of control with the cost of living. The liberals have invaded and are here to stay.

Congrats! We tried moving, went to the east coast...hated it worse than here and came back. And don't mind other people saying you're running, they're just jealous they don't have the means themselves to split outta here

Been thinking about moving too. Oklahoma is appealing, that's where I'm from and have family & friends there. N. Carolina has sounded interesting too.

I've said this before to those who accuse others of 'running away'... Those of us who chose to leave weren't running away. We were, and in this case are, running towards a better quality of life, better economic opprotunities, a better political environment and so much more. You make it sound like you're some sort of tireless warrior gallantly defending your way of life. You're not. If the Colorado of today is any indication of how you 'fight' you're doing a really lousy job of it.

I left 10 years ago and my life improved immensely both in quality and economically. I couldn't be happier to be out of the shithole you're 'fighting' for. Everyone I still maintain contact with in Colorado constantly bitches about how bad it is. Most have family ties that keep them from leaving otherwise they'd have been long gone. So you go ahead and stay to fight a war you lost a long time ago and keep pretending you're more noble than those who left. I'll gladly stay where I am as well and enjoy a life free from nanny-state leftists that want to control everything the residents of the state do.

Well said, 8 yrs since we moved

According to the map, you're about 25 min outside CDA. Had one of our friends and his wife relocate outside CDA 3 weeks ago. He's an excellent firearm and edged weapons instructor, among other disciplines. I'll be contacting him this weekend to see where he's located, definitely someone you may find interesting

Ha! I'm really shocked at how much I enjoy living here. OK was never on my radar. If you had told me 20 years ago I'd be retired at 65 (in a few weeks) and having my morning coffee with Corgis and goats and chickens on a little farm in OK I would've thought you were smoking crack. I actually think this is my favorite place I've ever lived.

    Great choice and congratulations.

Moving isn't running away or proving a point. It's protecting your family, values and way of life. That's honorable.

Colorado isn't safe for traditional conservative families anymore. Public schools here are grooming children. Getting your kids away from that isn't running, it's survival. I know a family whose pre-teen son was secretly groomed to convince him he was trans in and by the public school. The state then paid a visit to the family and told the father that since he was a pastor, they knew he wouldn't support the kid. They told him, quit your job or the state will remove the kid. They moved to a safe state overnight. The kid is now doing great.

This state is a mess. Anyone who leaves making a great choice.
