    Default HOV violation

My wife took my car on e-470 and I guess she crossed the solid line that splits the 2 lanes. Looks like $75 fine or $150 after my given date of 12/11. Do I really have to pay this? Also they don?t even have a pic of the driver.

Colorado presumes guilty on automated tickets from cameras. If you can prove you were not the driver, you might be able to get out of the ticket. Maybe.

You won't be able to renew your drivers license till you pay it when the time comes to renew. Not sure of other penalties.

Dash cam could prove you were just trying to avoid an accident. The government is real good at denial of due process.

No, make your wife pay the damn thing. She was driving, she earned it.

I checked with a fellow LEO this weekend about automated tickets. He explained that the ticket goes to the vehicle, not the driver. Since they can only prove the vehicle made the violation, the owner is responsible for handling the citation. If someone else was driving, it’s up to the owner to make that person pay it back. I've heard of them putting a hold on the vehicles license plates and not allowing them to be renewed until it has been paid. Not sure if $75 is worth the gamble, especially if she did commit the crime.

Confirm the statute that's listed on the citation. I've heard several stories that the ticketing agency uses a "avoiding toll" charge. If the toll was paid through license plate toll, or transponder, getting it voided becomes a little bit easier. It is possible they've become wise to their previous mistakes however.

Or my wife has enough personalities to qualify any ride as HOV
