Default Frontier Sportsman's Club (Falcon / Hanover)

    https://www.frontiersportsman.org/

    I didn't find a pre-existing thread on FSC so I thought I'd post one.

Been a member here for 10 years. Other than having a membership there I have no official capacity with the range.

It's a good club with 2 ranges: one South of Falcon and another East of PPIR off of Hanover Road.

The Falcon Range has VERY STRICT rules enforcement (zero tolerance) because the range itself has a number of homes around it and carelessness could likely be expected to impact one of those homes or disturb the residents where they file a complaint with the county (again). The maximum here is 300 yards.

The Hanover Range has many ranges, including a 1k yard range, allows the use of steel targets (only permitted on West half of range), full-auto (but MUST be tethered or affixed to a mount), etc. Because it's more remotely located, there is much more you can do out there that you can't at the Falcon Range. To get to the range property you have to traverse through private property and there are 2 locked gates you must pass through.

There is a wait list (unsure of length, but expect it's under 2 years) and an initiation fee ($150 for 2026) and an annual fee of $150 for 2026 with no required (but appreciated) range work requirements.

All members MUST be an NRA member and NRA membership #/expiration is required at application and renewal time (NRA Life members will already have their NRA membership information in the system every year at renewal).

All members have to provide a clear photo to be added to their badge (badges are required to be visibly worn at all times on range property). While I didn't see a charge for it this year (I think it was a 1 time fee for her badge), but my wife is considered a member and has her own badge as well.

As with any range, there are times you'll visit and it'll be crowded (especially at the Falcon Range) and other times you'll be the only person out there.

I know we have other COAR members who are also FSC members. Are any of you planning to attend the Combined Annual Meeting and Big Game Meeting this coming Saturday (January 17, 2026 / 1830-2200)?

Unless I encounter an emergency, I'll be there so if you want to meet up, give me a shout (PM) here so I know who to look for.

ETA: Went to the annual meeting. The "Executive Vice President made it clear on the clubs Facebook page that it was to start @ 6:30PM. I arrived @ 6:21PM and it had already started. -UGH- I did end up winning one of the door prizes (gift card), so there's that.

I have been a member forever as well. I was not planning on attending the meeting. If that changes I'll certainly let you know.

I have been a member at Frontier for many years. I have yet to set foot on the Falcon Range and have zero plans to change that. Too many houses in the impact area. Why they dont sell the land and move is beyond me. But the 1,000 yard range at Hanover is nice and the ability to shoot full auto at night there is a huge plus.

I was not planning on going to the meeting.

I was a member from 2013-2015 and am currently on the wait list.... If anybody can put in a good word for me, it would be great to have a safe place to shoot nearby

I really enjoyed the Falcon range because it's only 15 mins from my house. I do share the concerns about proximity to houses, but I think if you're shooting safely into the backstops it shouldn't be an issue.

The number of times I went to either Falcon or Hanover back in '13-15 and didn't see another soul there was amazing. I almost always had my pick of either 360* shooting bay at Hanover so I could shoot steel and practice for IDPA.

I wish CRC would do this.

Been to the Falcon range a few times as my old man is a member. Beats going to Dragon Man.

I'm a big fan of the FSC! I am usually within 10 minutes of the Falcon range on any given day for work, so getting a quick zero on a rifle is really convenient. It's great having a place to shoot farther at Hanover. And honestly one of my favorite amenities is the clay throwers at Falcon. They are great machines and it's really great/cheap practice compared to any other sporting club.

Not a member but have been to Hanover range as a guest and it has my favorite 1000 yd range.

Been a CRC member for many years, great 1000yd range but best 1000 yd experience has still been Hanover.

Of course being able to shoot full auto doesn't hurt either.
