OK, so they're getting some snow. This is one of the reasons that I like to have a couple week's worth of food around. It took me a couple years to make my wife (who grew up going to the store every day or two) understand that to me, a couple week's worth was rock bottom. After a snowstorm or two where we didn't have to go to the store as the mess was underway, she got it. When I was deployed for the war in '03 and we had the big blizzard, she had plenty in the house for the three days she was snowed in. What's that old saying, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure? LET IT SNOW, BABY!
(Preferably on a Monday night or early Tuesday!)

in the basement, just got the genny cutover installed with the new service panel. No more extension cords! Fridge, deep freeze, furnace, and exterior lights all on backup if needed. Also have the gas fireplace - just need more ammo.
