Question AR -15 Spares- What parts do you recommend?

I had a firing pin retaining pin fail (found it broken when I was cleaning it) so I had to order a replacement pin. While I was there i also ordered some other bolt parts that might fail or get lost during a feild cleaning.

So here are 2 diagrams and parts lists of the upper and lower assemblies-

I would keep a spare bolt/carrier assembly around.

I was going to post a thread similar to this... I need some spare parts but don't really know where to start. I figured a lower parts kit would be about the best thing initially to have correct?

    firing pin and such...

I keep a small parts kit in my range bag-firing pin, springs, extractor etc. It seems that if anything is going to go wrong it's in the BCG.

DPMS makes a parts kit with a good selection of what you would usually need, they call it their "Ultimate Repair Kit", and MidwayUSA has them for $34.99, P/N 587468. It has most of the items needed most. I've seen this kit other places, but Midway is quite a bit cheaper than anywhere else I've seen them.
A lower kit is good, too. My kit contains a lower kit, one of these ultimate repair kits, an upper kit, a pin and spring kit, and a few more of anything else I thought I might need.

I've had a DPMS (blister card) Field Repair kit that has most small parts from the ejector, extrator, detents, firing pin, almost all the springs etc. I've had it for about 20 years. Never even opened it. I keep it in a fishing tackle box that holds all my gun cleaning supplies.

I was reading recently that there are a lot of people who keep a spare bolt or bolt/carrier.
My feeling has always been that I have a complete spare uppers. No need for an I can always steal parts if I need any until I can get the parts I need to replace any that have broke. BTW.... over 50,000 combined rounds from a couple AR rifles and I have never had any part failure. Am I just lucky? Maybe. I understand that it is commonly believed that the bolt is only supposed to last 10,00 rounds.
