Default Taurus Millenium series PT 145 Pro

I was looking for a CCW gun that was inexpensive, yet well made, and that I wouldn't be crying into my pillow over dropping or whatever, and this Taurus fit the bill.

I paid $430 new, came with 2 10 round single stack mags. It's chambered for .45 ACP (I won't carry any less) and is the size of most 9mm sub compacts. I don't really care for striker fired pistols, I prefer external hammers with de-cockers (I.E, Sigs, FN's etc..)however, most pistols with these features are very expensive. SO I settled, as the Taurus, in additon to a firing pin block, has a manual thumb saftey.

The only thing i really hate, is when cocked, ready to fire in single action, the trigger pull is rediculously long (probably another "just in case" safety feature) to the point where, when I first fired it, I thought it wasn't cocked, and I re-racked the slide. Turns out, it fires at almost the complete rearward section of travel. IT's a little odd at first.

Cool thing, is that this gun has Taurus's second strike capability. If a round fails to go off, I can fire the gun in double action (just like a revolver) to try to strike off the primer again, a feature I really like, you never know what will happen. No Tap, Rack, Bang there.

In short, it's a great gun for a great price, fit and finish is suberb, recoil is very manageable, and anyone who's familiar with a Glock will recognize the internals when taken apart (it has remarkable similarities to my Glock 22)
