Interesting points. His kit is a bit off, I don't think he practices with it much.

dude's safety is off the entire vid... look closely at about 5:11 when he turns the gun sideways.

If your rifle runs dry and you have your eyes up you know if you need to stop worrying about the reload and transition to pistol for a very close threat. When you get your rifle back up you know where the threats are at. WHY IS YOUR SAFETY OFF? 5:13 finger on the trigger....

I think i'm done watching his stuff, ideas are ok, but extremely poorly executed.

well i got a reply from him, he's at least willing to take criticism.
    "@wulf202
you are right about the trigger. i should not be showing that as a way to operate a weapon. to many new shooters. thank you. and as for the safty... i am doing a reload vid...... im gunna leave the safty off. and to be 100% honest i dont use the side safety all that much. i am tryin to mod a the safety to make it more user friendly. thanks for watchen"

As for his kit, the ak has no patina even on the bolt of heavy firing. The virtical fore grip just plain gets in the way of reloads (you can see it in the reloading vid), you can see he has it very far forward making it not very ergonomic to hold in an attempt to get it out of the way of the mag, he's maybe 6' so the reach on that grip would have his arm waving out front with a heavy load on it, talk about isometrics! A mag well hold is far more practical.

The eotech 552 is an AA model and when you fire the gun enough it get's very hot on the barrel and gas piston area that he has it mounted, shutting down non lithium AA's. Maybe he's got lithium AA batteries in it, but the lack of wear on the bolt makes me believe not. The rail system he's got it mounted on stacks it way up so that he's got to have a cheek rest but it puts it in line with the PVS mount on the back. The PVS (night vision) mount is on an aftermarket top cover that uses two set screws to hold it down, adding complexity to a simple rifle. All of that shit gets in the way of the stock sights making it nearly impossible to use them if the eotech dies.

The simpler way to do it is to head mount the pvs unit, put an ultimak replacement gas tube and co witness an aimpoint h1 or t1. That also allows you to use the nvg for things other than shooting. Ditch all that heavy ass rail and put a tapco quad rail on the hand guard or just bolt a chunk of rail onto the stock one and put your light on that so you can reach it with a magwell hold.

Lastly that romy drum that's on the gun is unloaded, they normally rattle when they're full and weigh a metric fuck ton

Now for his personal kit, it's all nice and clean which could mean he's just washed it or not gotten it dirty, snaps break, i've got a pile of em that have either been torn right out of nylon gear or just went to shit, or they get mud in them. The snaps are perfectly black which leads me to believe he doesn't go prone on them much, if he did he'd find out he's laying on something that stacks him up like 2 denver phone books. He advocates retaining mags but I see no dump pouch. AK mags have alot of sharp pointy parts that tear the shit out of nylon, bullets up or bullets down those pouches would have some wear. The ease in which he gets up and down means that the mags on his chest are unloaded.

The kit looks like it should carry between 6 and 9 ak mags which is heavy as hell add that to a drum fed ak with 3+ pounds of bolt ons and you have a sore son of a bitch who's using it all day.

Where is his pistol mags? i see a drop leg but no spares.

I'm no expert but i've trained a bit and those are some lessons I've learned the hard way along with what I've learned from the real experts. Maybe I'm wrong and his kit just holds up amazingly well.

There's plenty of quality gear there, but I just don't believe he's tried to use it. I can throw out a bunch of good points like the fact that he's got smoke ready to go, plenty of spare mags, red dots allow you to get on target faster, he's got NVG which is alot better than not having it weapons mounted or otherwise. Looks like a tournequet strapped to the front on his right which is a damned good place for it, a quality single point bungee, possible medkit on his left side. The vest appears to have plates in it. He's also got a good mindset and well spoken, weather I agree or not with his points. He's well prepared and willing to talk about it so that's a better position to be in than 95+% of the population.

Yeah I may have been a bit harsh and normally I'd overlook a couple of things, but when you add everything up...

Like I said I've made alot of those mistakes myself so they jumped out at me.

Alright Wulf, I've gotta ask: What do you do that has given you such a keen eye and insight into these details?

I ask questions of those that do it for a living and i train alot. I am not an expert. Like I said I've made most of these mistakes already. For instanance as many mags as I could stuff in my kit leaving me nearly immobile, having so much kit that when I went prone there was about 5 inches of gear between me and the ground, trying to do fast reloads with a romy g fore grip etc.

It's like alot of other things though, had i not seen his safety being off and his finger on the trigger in several vids I would have not cared but once I got started looking for the details they started to jump out at me.

Most of the guys that have been there and done that have a different way of carrying themselves . I've been around high speed guys of various groups since I was a kid but wasn't able to go that route career wise.

I'm really not trying to dog the guy he's got some good points, but he's in full kit for no reason and I thought it important to note it looks like he doesn't use it so take what he's saying with a grain of salt when it comes to kit and firearms tactics.
