Upper Wear

I noticed what appears to be some wearing in the upper of my 6920.

It's on the rear of the semi-circular 'cut-out' in the upper (I'm sure there is a correct name for this area). On the attached pics its the shiny area.

Is this normal? I tried searching and 'googleing' but came up blank.

I also noticed that the rifle looked clean until I looked at the closeups So out with the cleaner etc. tonight!
