Default Sig Mosquito? Ruger SR22? Opinons

Ok, so I'm thinking of getting the Sig Mosquito. I read lot's of issues with it's feeding problems. I own a Walther P22 and it's been pretty good to me so far.

I want the mosquito primarily for the wife and kids to shoot, they all seem to like the Walther P22.

Should I try the Sig or just get another couple of the P22's?

Just looking for fun plinking guns to keep the family interested without breaking the bank on guns or ammo.

Also considering the SR-22 for the same purpose if anyone has worked with it yet.

Or should I just get another MKII or MKIII Ruger - I have a MKII and it's never let me down yet.

    Thanks, Kc.

I have loved Sig Sauers ever since I got my first P220. But my Mosquito is another story. The only ammo I have found to work is mini-mags and they are marginal at best. Every other round I’ve tried has jammed like crazy. My mosquito is over 5 years old so they might be better now. I don’t think I’ll ever buy another mosquito.

When you get a Sig Mosquito, the very first thing you should do is tighten and lock tite the screw under the take down lever. I've heard several people saying that they would have a few problems and tightening that screw always fixed everything. I'm under the impression that when that screw gets loosened, the barrel gets some play in it, and it causes a host of problems.

The reports I've read have said that you only need to lock tite that screw once and then you're good to go.

I know it was not one of your options, but I have a ruger MKIII 22/45 hunter with the 6 7/8" fluted barrel, it is bar none the nicest shooting out of the box .22 I have ever used. I Have shot the sig, along with s&w, browning buckmarks, and also a beretta and in my opinion is the bset bang for the buck, and also made in the best country in the world. Plus it will shot the balls of of a bunny, just ask this one

Yeah... my mkii has never failed. the MKII/III/22-45 are a little larger for the smaller shooters though... that's about my only hang up on that....

I'm off monday, will run all the local stores to see what peaks my interest...

Love my Sig Skeeter. Never any problems.... ever.... I read all the terrible reviews they had on the internet and bought one anyway. Mine is either the exception or they are good guns as far as I'm conserned. I would buy another one anytime.
