Yup, that's why I make my own. No need to stockpile in case SHTF. Once you have the equipment you can make "beer" out of virtually anything. Nice to know you will never run out of booze. In fact, the pioneers made wine out of dandelions...food for thought.

Maybe I should start a homebrew thread...

    Where are you?

CS - I have been to Old West Homebrew many times and they have always been helpful. 229 East Pikes Peak Avenue

Metro Area - I currently get everything at Beer at Home in Englewood. They are awesome. 4393 South Broadway
Another location in Westminster at 1325 W. 121st Ave

Many people like the Brew Hut in Aurora...they also do online order. www.thebrewhut.com 15120 E. Hampden Ave.

Used to go to What's Brewin' in Boulder but I think they closed...

    Online - I like www.morebeer.com www.midwestsupplies.com and www.northernbrewer.com

There are many more in the state and countless places online which usualy have better prices but going to a store is the best way to get started. You can chat for hours with the people at most stores and they are more than happy to help you with anything. Most even have homebrew in the back that you can sample if you ask...

Best books - How to Brew by John Palmer (my fav), Homebrewing Guide by Dave Miller and the The New Complete Joy of Homebrewing by Charlie Papazian (the homebrew bible)
