Just a heads up, went down to GMSC this morning and was told the rifle range was shut down due to flooding they didn’t say when it was going to reopen.

Thanks for the heads up. Planned on going there in morning.
I went there on May 3 and used the rifle range. Everything was fine.
Last time I was there the staff was talking about banning assault rifles on the rifle range because idiots kept destroying the target hangers by violating range rules and rapid firing more than 3 rounds at a time. This is one of the better ranges I've been to. Good people here.
They told me it was a 30-30. Same old BS.
The only thing "good" about the place is the facilities. Its a GREAT place to zero an optic.
I don't need to hear how my AR is a P.O.S. because it "needs a forward assist". Or how the guy doesn't like Mausers (when I'm firing a Finn M39). The know NOTHING about firearms, or ammo for that matter. A female employee belching in my face when I was filling out their paperwork was also great.
If they can ever get a handle on what ammo they allow and don't allow, I'll go back. It's different every time.
Someone should also tell them there is no reason the check the PRIMER with a magnet.
Nice range, need to work on customer service BIG TIME.
P.S. They are not "assault" rifles as they are SEMI-automatic. An assault rifle is FULLY-automatic.

I usually go here when I don't want to drive up to the mountains but I really don't care for the "no standing" rule on the rifle range. The staff there always seemed nice to me!

I like an indoor range to zero in since there is no wind.
