    Default Prairie dogs 8-8-10

    My two sons and I are going out tomorrow. Will post picts of the aftermath.

    Here is where we set up at first.





    After shooting there for about an hour we moved closer to the windmill.

    After lunch we moved even further south to here.



    It is just over 300 yards to the corner of the pasture, 280 to the fence line on the south.


    Spent the rest of the afternoon there.

    Now for the carnage

    17hmr does not do the damage a 204 or 223 does but it still kills them fine






    204 is just a little more devastating, even at long ranges



    This one flattened out nice, reminded me of a bear skin rug.

    Oh and we had plenty of ammo. My boys only shoot 17hmr and I also shot a lot of it.

    I wish our land up there had prairie dogs. I only ever see antelope. Maybe I ought to actually take a stroll around and see if I see any. Cool pictures. Sounds like you and your boys had fun.
