The trailer for the new Ghostbusters 2020 just dropped.
It's a direct sequel to the Ghostbusters movies from the 1980s and they're going to completely ignore the 2016 one.

Chris Hemsworth was ok in it, but other than that and the selfie stick gag that was in the trailer is the only funny bit.
Fundamentally, Ghostbusters 2016 managed to capture zero % of the comedy, scares, world-building, music, or geekery of the original movies, or even the animated series, for that matter.

Bummer. I recently heard someone say that the new phrase people are throwing around is "Get woke, go broke," so I think this trend may be on the way out.

They need to have a better motivation than to just remake everything with female leads.
I'm holding out for the remake of Lara Croft: Tomb Raider with a male lead. Maybe they'll call it Larry Croft?
