Best movie of the year or just another Hollywood rip-off of a popular book title?

Who is John Galt? Having him portrayed by Paul Johansson seems an absolute travesty to me.

I've been keeping tabs on the movie for the past year and the word is that they've supposedly kept it as close to the book as they can (as much as you can in a 2 - 3 hr movie for a 1200 pages book).

I wasn't at all pleased with their choices of cast members. I mean Grant Bowler as Henry Reardon? Isn't Hank supposed to be a bit older than this guy? It's like they didn't do their research and find out what the characters should look, act, or sound like.

I'm concerned with liberal Hollywood making a movie off of a story that really goes against so many of the values of the actors and movie industry as a whole.

I suspect the message(s) the book tries to convey will be super washed down and the movie will relay none of what it should to the viewing public, leaving them having no real idea what Atlas Shrugged is really about.

So, to answer your question: I think it will be just another Hollywood rip-off of a popular book title?

Was that good? I was just talking to my GF about that.

Speaking of football oriented movies . . . I just watched The Blind Side the other day. I thought it was really good. I didn't realize it was based after a true story until the end. I've had no desire to watch it but wasn't sad after I did.

Blind Side was pretty dang good, made all the cooler because it's based on a true story

It's a tear jerker, hollywoodized from what really happened, but not bad IMO.

I've read quite a few reviews that say basically the same things you did. I was all excited to check it out and now . . . not so much.

I watched The Book of Eli the other day. I liked it.

Without giving any spoilers to those who haven't yet seen the movie, what did you think of the plot twist?
