One of my favorite book series is called Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson. From the previews of Push, it seems like the movie ripped off the idea, but I can't tell since I haven't seen it. One of my friends that have all read the Mistborn books and saw Push said that Push basically ripped off the idea though. I might have to check it out just to see what I think (and how pissed I get).

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet but Dark City is a pretty interesting one. Came out roughly the time that the first Matrix did so it got buried under that. Pretty interesting flic; a dark, sci-fi film.

How has no one mentioned The Beast ( the one with Jason Patric in Afghanistan as a Russian Tanker), I mean the first ten minutes of that movie were some of the best shooting seances ever, or Pentagon Wars for the Bradley fans. Just have to have those Sheep Specs.
And Idiotoracy, great Movie but every day it comes closer to becoming a documentary.

Oh and conversely, how crappy was The Hurt Locker, so crappy I didn't wait for the ending removed it from my DVD player and gave it back to Blockbuster. That damn movie was like the final ramblings of a dementia patient, even if the plot didn't smell like the under side of fromunda cheese the camera man needs to to at least be strung up Pace picante style. (get the rope)
Sorry had to vent that, well would you look at that time for my meds.........

Watched Dark City. It was okay. Didn't get really campy until the end. It had a pretty good concept that must have been difficult to portray in film without being too hokey.

Just got done with Watchmen. What a great movie that was. I really need to stop listening to mainstream opinion on movies. I've heard a LOT of people trash both District 9 and Watchmen, but they are on my top list. Excellent flick*. I could see how people thought it was too long and too boring, but I loved it. Excellent sound track as well.

*I've never read any comics, so I'm immune to things that were left out or altered in any comic book movies.

As far as Predators goes, I don't think it is a movie that I can tolerate. Once I saw the preview with the Yakusa Dragons in it, I completely dismissed the movie. Well, all the previews made me not want to see it, but the Yakusa one pushed me over the edge. At first I was mad that they ruined a great movie, but then I remembered how lame Predator 2 was, and realized that the original Predator was probably lame and I was just too young to notice at the time. I don't want to watch it again because I fear that it is better in my memory.

Did Watchmen get bad reviews from any mainstream critics? I guess I was so excited for it to come out that I just tuned out any reviews. I know the fanboys didn't like it, and of course Alan Moore distanced himself from it but he does that with all of the adaptations.

I don't really listen to main stream reviews (maybe I should). Just a bunch of people in random forums saying how it was long, boring, and showed too much dong. Idiot radio DJs and stuff say the same thing. Did you like it?
