ok, thanks for the tips, I'll make sure there are no gas leaks, seals are solid, and it's lubed very well. It's not ejecting the cartridge properly and that is causing the misfeed. I'd see the chamber jammed up with one spent round and one fresh one in each other's way.
Hate to say it but I haven't heard much in the way of good things about DPMS when it comes to their 308s. Jam-O-Matics. I've seen them in action, or lack of, lots of issues. I was looking into the AR platform for some precision matches out to about 700. After extensive research I found that most folks running DPMS don't have much luck. I went with a bolt action instead.
