Default case of MRE's for $30?

Seller claims to have cases packed march 2010 Menu A for $30 or $50 for 2, is this a good deal, seems like it?

Make sure they are real MRE's not the fake ones.

I just picked up two cases, A & B for $42 each, inspection dates 10/11, pretty good. Just make sure they have kept them in a climate controlled environment. Even in the garage in Colorado is going to decrease their shelf life significantly.

That being said, I went camping last weekend and ate MRE's from 2001 which were pretty damn tasty . Of course I throw all my MRE's in a deep freeze as soon as I get them (supposedly increases shelf life another 5-10 years).

Depends on the temperature. Typical life is 11 years at 60 degrees. So if these were packed recently and kept cool then they have a long time ahead of them.

P.S. - Don't eat 10 year old MRE cheese, it looks like it came out of the bowels of a goat and smell about the same.

The smell and texture were enough to turn my stomach, if you braved a taste then, well, you are some manly man and I fear and respect you .

Any good Ranger would have done it. You just have to be hungry enough. Besides I know I have eaten a lot of spoiled MRE cheese that has turned from the georgia heat.
