    Default Ruger Standard (MkI) .22

I have a 1951 (Red Eagle on left grip) Ruger Standard .22 I inherited from my father. I do not really wish to sell it but it should really have new springs and the like. Is there any gunsmiths who specialize in this model. While I like to do most of my own work, this should likely see someone who has experience with it - especially the older ones. I have considered trading it for a P22 or SIG Mosquito but they do not get consistent good grades over a Ruger - though I do like the smaller size of the P22 - I had one for a while.

Absolutely DO NOT sell your Mk1 pistol. My Father has one and it shoots great. Far better than a P22 or Mosquito. It is a real .22 pistol, not a cheap plastic one.

I agree. I can't think of a time my MKII has failed to function, even when extremely dirty.
