Where to shoot near Parker?

Is the firingline the closest place to Parker? Someone needs to open a range in P-town.

Brandon at Rocky Mountain Guns and Ammo is looking to open a range in Parker eventually. Sounds pretty cool (indoor 100 yard). I'm not sure on the timeline.

I'm near Parker and head to Cherry Creek Family Sports Center for upto 100 yard rifle and 7 yard pistol. They have a shotgun (trap) setup as well. I've never tried there trap.

Another consideration is the Ben Lomond Gun Club (BLGC) just north or Ramah. You need to be a member though. The range is about an hour from Parker but worth the drive. They have a high power rifle range to 600 yards and many, many, other ranges.

I don't spend too much time at watkins. Mostly lakewood, Erie. Haven't been on a bike in a while though... about 6 months

I talked with Brandon from RMG&A the other week and he mentioned a range they use for their classes... made it sound like it was out towards Elizabeth ?

I took my AK to the Cherry Creek Family Shooting Center last week and was a little disappointed.

They wouldn't let me shoot my AK pistol because it didn't have a stock, and uses a rifle round (can't be used on the handgun range) so I was SOL with that. I had a good time with the AK-74 though.

Its too structured in my opinion. I guess with how busy it is, its necessary.

The range officers also almost wouldn't let me shoot the AK-74 because the bolt doesn't hold open, but I jammed a large piece of spent brass in it and that was acceptable.

BLGC is a little far from Denver for me, unfortunately, to warrant being a member. I wouldn't go very often.

So, you would rather go to a range that won't let you shoot you evil pistol because it's not a pistol caliber but doesn't have a stock, and thinks that a rifle that won't lock the bolt open is too dangerous to be allowed... instead of driving an hour and a half. I never have shot at THAT range, and the chances I will are very very low.

BLGC is about $250 initial fee and about $100 every year after that. Auto's are allowed. There are 11 different berms, and In 6-7 years of being a member I have NEVER had to share a berm unless I was sharing with a fellow competition shooter during a practice session. You can bring and shoot all the evil and misunderstood types of firearms and evil calibers you want and nobody will even bat an eye. Just don't shoot up my plastic 55 gal barrels on berm 5 and you are fine.

I like the ability to go to a range after work, rather than just weekends.

If you want to take me as a guest, I might change my tune. Sounds pretty great.

I did enjoy the range I belonged to in NY...if it was busy, everyone policed eachother (if even necessary) and was no issue to get everyone to take a break and walk down to change targets. But most of the time, there was no one there.

I agree. It's a decent range but because of the structure, I always end up getting in trouble for something there...
