Default Elk in Boulder county area?

Anyone hunt for elk in the Boulder say around the Swisserland trail? I noticed they have tags up there but I have never seen any around. Anybody aware of any herds or thoughts of getting on them. I realize you may not want to divulge but thought I would ask.

I imagine the elk are going to be much higher this year. Too hot. Just depends on how much snow and when we get it. I have never hunted the area though

Might want to check the Four Mile Fire burn area. IIRC parts of the Switzerland Trail area may be effected. I haven't seen any elk lately. The peaks just got frosted this week.

I ran into two bulls last year during the Halloween week snow storm. First time I ever ran into them hunting muleys in the area. Just wondering where there coming from. Of course I did not have tag but I see there are 200 plus leftover tags for the area this year. Perhaps I will just buy one and mayby I will luck into one again. As sniper said the snow is the big infulence. Just hope I could find a herd. Got the deer and antelope { on the plains]figured out. It be nice to get an elk close to home.
