1972, Coast Guard Cutter Rush in Alaskan waters. We saw this regularly. Threw water over the signal bridge. The bow would disappear beneath the surface, then with a huge shudder, it would cause a huge swell as it broke out again. Good times. Sandwiches for dinner, as the cooks couldn't use the kettles or grills. "Walking" down the amidships passageway, you would basically bounce off the walls on either side. Unofficial USCG motto: "you have go out, you don't have to come back".

But the really fun thing, was waiting for a big rise, then take one step and go from the bottom of a ladder and step off on the top. You could time your trips down the ladders too. Never got old.
