Default DCF Guns in castle rock

DCF stands for Douglas County Firearms. (Douglas County Firearms Guns..... a wee bit rhetorical, eh?)

They are located on wilcox in downtown castle rock, where the old jackson hewitt insurance place used to be (next to the dive shop).

I went in today to check em out, and ended up being pretty impressed.

Very nice guys that run the shop, welcomed me from the start.
They have a myriad of cool toys inside, although mostly handguns, they did have some rifles, and AR parts (handguards, sights, lowers, and a couple AR57 uppers). They are a little overpriced, but that is to be expected from a local business. 30 bucks for glock mags, and 50 for a blackhawk serpa holster. Not exactly the most extensive stock in terms of ar/pistol accessories (compared to bowers or something equivalent), but its still acceptable. The two guys that run the shop (Josh and Frosty) seemed to be knowledgeable, and friendly. Ended up leaving with a glock annual and a little glock 17 keychain (haha). They sell bitterroot ammunition almost exclusively, with a box of 9mm running 13 bucks for the cheap stuff. They also sell bulk packs, with a box of 1000 9mm being $225 from what I remember. I would gladly visit twice from what I have seen so far, and I encourage those who live around castle rock, or those who are passing through to do so as well.

    hope this helped,
    Kenny

I've been in communication with Josh since around October 2010. I've purchased, transferred, and traded guns there. Josh and Frosty are very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful people. I was amazed at the last time I was there because they've progressed so much since I first saw the shop (under where they are now). They turned an empty basement into a full-on retail gun shop in just a few months. Ty seems to be more of an archery guy, so having Josh and Frosty around is so wonderful.

They now have a classroom downstairs, too.

Purchased a new XD9SC from DCF good guys, I have nothing but good things to say about the service and the shop. I did try to have them install night sights and they were unable to do this on this firearm because "we have broken the tools that push the sights when trying to do this on that gun" and I went and had another shop do it. If you know of a better tool for this on this firearm please call them they welcome your help.

A nylon/wood hammer and a nylon/brass/wood dowel will work just fine to drive out sights. Obviously there are better things to use, but I have used the method above with no problems.

The "gunsmith" that works there is a total tool from my experiences. The other people that work there are nice guys, but I cant stand him... (He spouts BullS**t about some topic he is not well versed on, I call him on it, he throws hissy fit, etc, etc...)

If you have q's on the sights (if you havent put them on yet), feel free to pm me
