    Default Opening day kansas

75 pheasants, 6 quail over the weekend. 10 Hunters.
40 pheasants, 2 quail on saturday
36 pheasants, 4 quail on sunday. We had to throw one bird away because it was a rattler, and 4 guys all shot it at the same time.

    That's a lot of birds!

You should blur that dog's face out so PETA can't use this picture to harass him.

Goddamn! Did you leave any for other folks? I haven't seen 75 pheasants in my whole life! I think the coldest I ever been in my life was on a pheasant hunt in Kansas with my dad when I was a pup.

Somehow, I am having trouble imagining you as a pup.

KS DOW was projecting a banner year for pheasants. I guess it "was" until you guys got through. Great job. Hope you left some seed stock? Just kidding.

If you don't mind sharing, but what area were you in?

    Thanks!

What, you never seen a fat, speckled pup before? We're the cutest kind!

we went to scott city, the farmer there farms for birds. He's not like a lot of farmers who farms for their pocket books. Every field had a minimum of a 2ft high weed patch in the corners. The weather this year gave the birds a great start. Everything grew early, until it got dry, but it was enough for them to grow and get multiple hatches. It's funny, we should of had about 120 birds, but we couldn't shoot worth a damn on monday. I had 5 misses inside of 40yds with my 28ga on monday, but that changed when i went to my boomstick. My good buddy went to atwood and got their party limit of 32 by 10am. Now that is hunting...
