I love the AK clones also. I've got an AK, Krink and an RPD. Here is a pic of the Krink in 5.45x39. I'm waiting on my FA AMD-65 that is on the way.

Got a Rom. SAR-1 last Sept. Only reason I bought it was because it wasn't an SAR-2. Plus, the local funstore had these in stock, at a decent price and I could look them over before I purchased.

I sanded the furniture some, added a little cherry stain and 3 coats of tung oil.

    Hey Glock!

Is that a fixed folder you have on there?

If you want I'll trade you a wood stocks for it. Let me know.

I took the wood off of my SAR1 and replaced it with synthetic. The SAR2 I have came with something else on it so I have the wood for it too. Give you something to play with if you want.

That would be great. I'm in no hurry, if you are going to be at the July 10 shoot, we could do it there. Otherwise let me know. Oh, yes, it's a fixed (welded) folder.

    KCØCXA:
Thanks, my furniture looks and feels pretty dry. I think I'll put a little stain and some oil on it this weekend, make it look more like the others on this page. Picked up a bunch more 7.62x39 yesterday. starting to hoard before the July shoot.

    glock,

The SAR1 rifles I had to choose from all had unfinished wood. :? And the rifle I bought looked like it's wood had been shaped with a chunk of cinder block. Across the grain.

I used 100grit paper to smooth out the biggest scrape marks. It looked good enough, and felt good enough I didn't even bother going to finer grit paper. After all, it's an AK.

A little elbow grease, stain and oil will really help the stocks on these things.
