If you find an item for sale that is sure to sell out quick, how about posting it here? I'd gather that most would be for C&R pistols, as they are limited supply.

In the Colorado Springs area, Big 5 sporting goods sells C&R rifles. Every week they have a sale on one or more of the rifles they stock. I was able to pick an m44 in excelent condition for 69.99. they also sell yugo sks swiss carbine and mausers. Check the gazette for their flyer.

Can you look at the rifles at the Big 5? The reason I'm asking is the only B5 i've been in was in California. What a PITA just to look at a rifle.

How are the deals and do they have a good selection?

Is the store easy to find? I will be in Co for a visit this summer and I would drive down to the Springs from Salida if it was worth it. Do they sell surplus ammo?

Depending on what Your looking for, They run their sales on about 3-5 week cycles.

For the most part, at least the two that I go to the most, have about 5-10 rifles to choose from. On some of the deals the only way I could beat them is if I broke down and got My C&R.

As far as the ammo go I haven't seen any surplus in the two that I go to,They do seem to have a decent supply of hunting ammo though.

I'm gettings some decent prices from my rep at Centure Arms. But I would like to find some other places that don't mark up a C&R with their crap numbering. I'm waiting on a CZ-52 w/ holster and extra clip in very good cond for $149. He has some Excellent cond 52s for 159.
They have other stuff too, but not much cheaper than Big 5 on one of their sales. I have bought 6 C&Rs from the 5, average cost was $89.00. They let me look at every rifle they have in stock and then pick the best one. They will even hold some back for you if you ask. One local collector had 3 M91/30s w/ hex recievers on hold when I went in one day, he just called in to the mgr.

big 5 is ok when stuff is on sale. I too find them quite helpful with letting you pick through what they have. My local store will even honor last weeks sale prices

If you are in the area of the 120th Ave East store (B5), several of the guys there will do the sale price on any one, any time.

I bought a coach gun at Big 5 on sale. It was out of stock, they next day delivered and gave me the sale price. I got a single shot 12ga H&R that was on sale and because it was their display they took an additional 15% off the sale price. I've always had great service. They have two locations in the Springs. They have no problems about you hand selecting a rifle. They will even call their other location and let you know what they offer.
