I stopped at Rob's guns for the first time the other day. It was a mixed experience. The service was very good and the salesman seemed very knowledgeable. These were positives.

The selection was pretty poor. It seemed to be an odd mish-mash of whatever the owner happened to lay his hands on. There seemed to be little consistency. The shop was also VERY messy and disorganized. It almost felt more like a pawn shop than a quality gun shop (I visited the pawn shop next door and it felt the same).

There were no safes there and no reloading supplies. The selection of gun accessories in general was rather poor.

The owner did let me handle a custom .45 that had been built by the gunsmith at Denver .45. He showed me a target that their range expert had shot as well. It shot a 3/4" group from 25 yards. It felt great in my hand and the trigger was sweet and smooth. Very nice gun. The price was pretty good too.

I've been in Rob's as well. Most of what was said above it true - it does have a bit of a pawn shop feel to it. Also, I suggest that if you don't like the smell of smoke, steer clear of this place. The shop reeks of it.

Rob's was unfortunately involved in a smash and grab robbery a few months back :-(

If you are interested in military rifles/pistols, I don't think this is the place for you. I did see an M1 and a Moisan Nagant, but they didn't have a ready stock of rifles on hand. The people behind the counter were personable though and willing to help you locate what you are looking for.

I've known Rob a lot of years since he and Dave shared a space.(Before he figured out Dave was an ass) Rob is another real good gun guy and his shop is not a huge space, but has a lot in it. It is a broad mix of types and styles, but so is the shooting community. He tries to have a little something for everyone. In addition, to battle rifles and carbines,(AR's Ak's,SK's and others) there are a host of great IPSC type guns, waterfowl, CAS, etc... There is a good assortment of high quality holsters and carrying cases. Some decent optics and others.

Rob himself is an acquired taste, but over all these years he's grown on me. Not only does he offer fair prices at his shop, but he will also work tremendous deals with you at the shows.

I've bought numerous guns from Rob over the years and he's bought a couple from me. I've never been mistreated, disrespected or left feeling I didn't get a good deal. I would highly recommend Rob's Guns.

Rob's Guns is going out of business. The going out of business sale is already in progress. His stated goal is to be done by July.

Rob's might be an aquired taste but I've not heard from anyone that his prices were too high or that he was ever a bad dealer.

Swing in and see what he has left to sell. Might be able to pick up a bargain.

I bought my last shotgun from Rob. I'd been looking all over for a Mossberg Marine Coat. I'd asked if he could order it for me and was leaning for the 18" 500 model. Rob asked me if I was sure I didn't want the longer 590 model with the extended magazine tube.

Before I could answer, he says, "I tell ya' what, I'll order one of each, and you can make up your mind after you've had your hands on them both, side by side." I've never heard of any gunshop offering that level of customer service before.

When they came in, I looked them both over and went for the 590 version.

    Great guy.
