Anyone tried the Ol Miners Steakhouse in Gunnison? Great food and very reasonable.I eat there every time I'm in town.
I must be going to the wrong Pho places. I go very occasionally with co-workers for lunch, every single one seems exactly the same as all the rest. Kinda like most Chinese places. How are the various ones in Thornton? I live in Denver & Thornton, these my favorites:
-- Steak (high-end): The Chophouse downtown. Wow, awesome. Also if you love Filet Mignon, their large size is seriously the size of your foot, NOT kidding. I couldn't finish it, after the great apps, incl. free jalapeno cornbread app w/ whipped honeybutter. Another app I love there is the Seasonal Artisinal Platter. Lots of fancy cheeses, sausage, nuts, olives, etc. Great for a group to try bunch of tasty different things. A little pricey though.
-- Italian: We love Patsy's near I-25 & 38th (downtown but west side of highway). Mom & pop type neighborhood restaurant. But great food, great service, cozy, date material for sure.
-- Indian: Taj Majal III in Lousville. It's a drive, but totally worth. The food is the best Indian in the area for sure, we've tried many. Try the Chicken Tikka Masala and Saag Paneer. Ask for extra spicy if you prefer, turns out amazing. Jewel of India near 104th & Federal is also pretty good. Both have very nice interior and decorating.
-- Tapas (Spanish/Mediterranean): In Boulder, The Med on Pearl St. Mall, try the patio when the weather's right. The Ninth Door downtown Denver, try the Sangria.
-- Mongolian BBQ: BD's Mongolian Grill downtown Denver. Big buffet tables of fresh meats, veggies, toppings, sauces. You build your own bowl, then they stirfry it on a huge fry table.
-- Brats, incl. various game: Biker Jim's Bratwursts downtown, also has a cart that travels around. Try the Jalapeno Cheddar Elk Bratwurst, SICK! *drool*
-- Mexican: Mexico City downtown, try the Fried Tacos, never seen them anywhere else. Santiago's breakfast burritos (various locations). Blue Bonnet (patio too), Broadway, just south of downtown. Benny's, near 8th & Grant, awesome chili rellenos (huge) w/ VERY hot green chili.
+1 For Chophouse, I love that place... But, I will raise you one- Kittredge has perhaps the best bang for your buck steakhouse, Black Hat Cattle Co. Their steaks are comparable to Chophouse and Elway's, but the prices aren't nearly as high.
As far as Mexican, my absolute, hands down favorite is Tafolino's Mexican Restaurant on Youngsfield and 20th (over near Applejack's Liquor in Lakewood- 32nd & Youngsfield exit, I-70). Seriously, this is food to write home about!
I'll add- Wings: Wing Wagon, Conifer, CO! Best hot wings you'll ever have (and the hottest)... Try the Suicide line, goes up to 20. For reference, BWW "Blazin'" are about Suicide 16 or so... The owner is awesome too, for a Patriots fan.

Being originally from Wichita, Kansas I can attest to the goodness that is Freddies. There's a couple down here in The Springs now too.
Also, new little diner opened up at 31st and Colorado called "The Dive" (its where Vietnamese Garden used to be). Haven't eaten there yet myself, but many of my neighbors have and they all rave about its classic diner fare.

Freddy's just opened up in Loveland out on highway 34 and I'm anxious to try it. Those that have been there: What are some must-try-items?
