Well when you do Hurley, you'll have to report back to us what your take is on the place.
I'll have to find an excuse to try it myself.
My curiosity is also peaked for trying out Texas de Brazil. Any place that could possibly give me "meat sweats" wins points in my book.

All this BBQ talk made I and the lady tried out Big Jim's... It's tastier and smokier than Hickory house, but to my disappointment, under the BBQ sauce, the meat was dry. It could have been much better imho. It may have been because they were busy. They are definitely worth another try - hope it'd be better next time.
That's a shame.
Rudy's BBQ here in the Springs that so many folks have raved over (I agree they are good) has a choice for their brisket of "moist" or regular. I've always ordered the moist as I can not abide by dry meat.
Of course, all too often I find that pulled pork is usually dry at most BBQ establishments. Part of that is due to the nature of pork, the rest is the due to the cooking and storing conditions.

I love pork, and more often than not, it is too dry.![]()

There is a new Korean BBQ place called Q BBQ on 104th and I25.
Good but expensive.
has anybody tried "Yazoo BBQ" downtown? would be interesting to hear how it compares to the Hickory House....
Park Burger in Wash Park was pretty darn good,
Quincy's steakhouse in Buena Vista/Leadville etc. I think is exceptional- I can't believe a filet meal (6oz) for $8. I have paid over $60 for filet that was not as good as theirs. I also appreciate their menu- your "choice" is only size- and what drink you would want. M-Th is filet, Friday thru Sun changes to prime rib and/or sirloin roast or something like that.
for something to mix it up, Cafe Brazil in Denver Highlands is top five in Denver for me. Family run/owned place- great quality ingredients and reasonable for what you are getting.
Also another vote for Root Down.
La Loma, Lola or Patzcuaro's for "southern food" for me.
So I'm resurrecting this thread, as Denver Restaurant Week is starting next week! Anyone gonna go check any new places out?
