1st magnum match of the year is this weekend set up will be 3 ish on Saturday afternoon and the match will have sight in Sunday morning at 7 ish and match starts at 8 . The gates to the roads will be locked once we start shooting so if you think you'll be late get hold of me or Mike .
1st Magnum match of the year is in the books. We now have flashers on the last 4 targets. Started off with calm winds but got breezy as the morning progressed. Congrats to SAPenguin for winning 2nd match in a row. If you want to have fun shooting out to 2k the next MAGNUM Match is 7/22!!

Good news. The Whittington Center Board of Directors has intervened in the closure of Coal Canyon to competitive shooting. Apparently there were a number of meetings and discussions between the BOD and the WC and the result is that we have been asked to reestablish the matches in Coal Canyon. Several of us will be meeting with Josh Adams in the near future to work out some of the details and to work on getting back to a good relationship with the WC. Mike Kolar will be returning in his role as Match Director. We anticipate that the first SRM Match of 2019 will be in February and it will take a serious effort to get all the steel back to the WC and the course reset. We will be trying to duplicate the prior course per the last range card and expect that we should be able to get pretty close. In cooperation with the WC, we do expect to be implementing some new rules, procedures and physical assets to help mitigate the wildfire risk in Coal Canyon.
The phone calls, emails, letters, web posts and other activities by our supporters here and elsewhere in the competitive shooting community have been extremely effective and have made this return of the Coal Canyon matches a reality. Thank you all.
I anticipate that JJ will be able to fill you in soon regarding how all this affects the natural terrain matches that he runs on the front side of the Whittington Center. I’m really only up to speed on the Coal Canyon matches and particularly SRM.

FYI-As you can see on the schedule the 3 Magnum Matches will be on the same weekend as the SRM.
We hope/expect to get bigger turnouts for the Magnum Match. But due to the nature of the Magnum match we will need to limit the number of shooters to approx 15.
Therefore, shooters for the Magnum Match will need to preregister on Practiscore.

NRA Whittington Center Sporting Rifle Match
The first match of the 2019 season is coming up on February 3 and we are going to need some help hauling our targets to the Whittington Center and resetting the course. More info at the match website - www.sportingriflematch.com .

I am gonna try to make it this year, even though its 9 hours away now. That's how good this match is. Thank you guys again for all the hard work it took to get the match back online and all the work it takes to run it.
