I have used the Barnes 168gr match TTSX in 308. It did a number on a pronghorn I shot at almost 200 yards. Stopped him dead in his tracks. While butchering him, I could really see the damage. Hit him high shoulder at an away quartering shot and the bullet exited his neck. Big hole. I will continue to use the TTSX's

Unless it's required by regulation, I just haven't seen the benefit of using a solid copper bullet over a lead core bullet for hunting. I've played with them a little, and have been far from impressed with their accuracy and their ease of loading. Unimpressive enough to not switch from other tried and true lead core bullets. If you are looking for a very accurate long distance hunting bullet, try the Berger VLD hunting bullets. I have gotten very good accuracy from just about any of the high end Horandy bullets and believe ot not Nosler partitions and their core bonded ballistic tips. I shoot below MOA out of my 7mm mag with 160 gr partitions. Why spend more.
Mom's comin' 'round to put it back the way it ought to be.

Talking with Steve Hornady he thinks the GMX is one of the best bullets they ever made. My 300 didn't like them too well so I never have used them in the field.
