Default Specialty Sports in Co. Springs. (Review)

Specialty Sports is located in Co. Springs on the SW corner of Drennan and Academy Blvd. This store has it all. They carry all the major gun lines and they carry every model. ( I feel sorry for you guys that have to go to Sportsmans Warehouse.) I was there last week and they had 13 models of the Desert Eagle. Jeff, his wife Kim, and all the guys there are top notch. They most likley have the largest IN STOCK selection of guns in the state. They also stock the complete line of Spyderco, Cold Steel, Benchmade and other knives. They also sell Surefire, ASP, Redgun, and more stuff than I can remember. I just bought the door for my walk-in gun vault from them. The store is open 10-7 Mon thru Sat, and is definitly worth the drive. One thing, They are very busy on Sat. , so if you want to fondle alot of stuff, it's best to go during the week. This store ROCKS!!! Ryan

How are their prices compared to "brick and mortar" places?

While I find Sportsman's Warehouse to have a limited of AR type items, their handgun selection is very good and their prices are really good. While not the cheapest, they are competitive....

I can second what Ryan said. I go in there frequently. I'm close to buying a new pistol and holster from them to replace my old CCW gun. Prices are MSRP for the most part. Average, not great, not bad. And the owner is very nice to deal with. Friendly, courteous, well mannered, helpful, and very knowledgeable. And the inventory is as good as Ryan said. Good staff too. Definitely the best gun store overall that this state seems to have to offer. Karl.

Thanks Karl, These guys are "brick and mortar", and have very competetive prices. Jeff also takes used guns in trade ( Sig 226 yes, British Webleys no) so you can upgrade. Again, They carry all major gun lines and are IN STOCK. they don't have one or two Glocks, they carry all. Last visit I saw 7-8 Colt SAA's, most Wilson Combat guns ( if you can afford them), an HK MK-23 Socom and others. If you make the trip and are dissapointed, I'll let you beat Karl up. Ryan

    Another nod for Specialty Sports..

One day one of the employees and I counted over 55 different 1911 guns on the shelves..ususally about four or five each of Wilsons, Ed Brown, Les Baer guns too.good representation of Glocks, Sigs, Smith and Wesson,
Rifle and shotgun selection is good too as well as optics and knives.

    prices are fair..
also every now and then you can find a really good deal on the used shelf..

I love Specialty Sports. I purchased my Kimber there after Russell walked me threw just about every 1911 in stock. He spent a total of 2 hrs.(over a period of 3 afternoons) with me talking pros and cons. Very informative and the best customer service I've ever recieved. I have purchased a total of 5 firearms from them, and will do more business in the future.

I've never walked out of there unhappy with the prices, or staff.

Unlike some places, you don't have to be an "expert" to be treated politely.

Absolutely the best place I've ever seen for guns, great inventory and very friendly people.
Took my wife there to look at carry pistols, she spent a great deal of time with Kim and we walked out of there with a Lady Smith in .38 Special.
Actually it is very dangerous for us to go there. Too much temptation

Another positive vote for Specialty. Not only is Jeff and his crew top notch, but they have been a match sponsor to the past two IPSC State Championships down in Pueblo.

And every now and again, they come out and shoot with us.

They have got a lot of $$$ from me over the years and will continue to do so. I can get most firearms cheaper by going through an FFL, but I would rather support a local business.

I live about 1 mile from the store, so it's pretty handy.

I've bought 10 of 11 firearms from them. I bought a Hi-Power 9mm from The Shootin' Den because SS&S didn't have one in stock for a couple months.

SS&S is the best gun store I've ever visited.

I also noticed Jeff & Kim at a Friends of the NRA banquet I attended.
