    That looks like the place.

Reviews on it seem all over the place? Any personal experiences from members here?

Mixed reviews about Specialty Sports, it really depends on who you talk to and how much of an idiot they think you are or aren't.

Some friends of mine have had horrible experiences in there, I haven't had bad experience, however I wont say every time is a good experience either.

Jon, the older guy with glasses, kinda short, very nice guy! nice and informative.

Some of the others....not so much...

I've been there numerous times and never had a good experience. The employees were all a bunch of dicks and treated me like a child. Also, their great selection is muddled by an over-the-top markup.

They usually have pretty good prices on used items though. As in $1200 for a socom16 or $250 for a Remington 1100.

Most are dicks, but as stated before the older guy that is short or the taller hippy-ish looking dude named Bud Light is okay.

New stuff is a bit to a lot overpriced.

Was a CVS that never opened ... but yeah, that's Specialty.

Awesome place to browse and fondle ... so-so place to buy (good folk, but you can usually find better prices online ... but that's pretty common for a LGS).

Its big enough though that its not a "stand around sipping free coffee and BSing with the clerks" kinda gun shop.

Second that when I went in there they tried to force a few guns down my throat and "educate" me on how I didn't know as much as they did. Went in once, won't go back.

In my experiences there, they literally don't want you fondling guns unless you plan on buying from them. 3 different times I've taken a friend or my wife in there to "try out" the feel of different guns and each time a different employee basically told us not to waste their time if we weren't going to hurry up and buy something.

They have a large inventory so if you want to handle a specific gun there's a good chance they'll have it so you can put your hands on one to decide if you want it ... then buy it online.

    (EDIT: was instaposted by HoneyBadger)

They may have figured out that is what we use them for, but in the past I've taken people down there looking for a specific gun and we got to handle several and they were polite about it (although the clerk swept us with the muzzle ... which annoys me but happens at most shops).

But I haven't been in there in a couple years so I can't speak to what they're like today.
