    Default Doing more with less

I'll play. Here are my two rifles. My primary is a stock Rem 700P in .308. I bedded the action and made the cheekpiece. The scope is a NF NXS in 5.5X22 on a 25 moa base. I shoot it primarily at the Pueblo PD matches Hoser and company put on. If I do my thing, and that's a big "if", it will shoot into 3/4" at 100 yards. I also play with it to 1K yards at my secret spot.

The camo rifle is my .22 trainer. It's a Savage Mark II FV. Scope is a Millett TRS-1 on a 25 moa base. I did another cheekpiece and also a spacer to raise the butt up. Ergonomically, the two rifles are as identical as I can make them. The only significant difference is the size of the grip. The .22 feels skinny in my hand compared to the .308. It shoots just sub moa with Eley Target. The plan is to cut some 1/2 scale prairie dogs out of steel and set up a practice range, but I haven't gotten that far yet.

Still loving that cammo job TimK. That's an awesome idea. You'll keep that forever, and in 20 years be really glad that you did it.

Sorry guys, guess the coyote shoot was this weekend. Farmer Roger says we can still come out and hunt if we want to and he also found some new prarie dog towns that we can ambush. If anyone wants to plan a weekend, just let me know and I can pass along his contact info. Just please be respectful to him and his property.

It's really easy to build up a palm swell with some fiberglass or fiberglass filler to make them feel identical.

More than likely after you've fit a gun to your hand, you'll be changing them all to fit you including that 308.... yes it makes that much of a difference.
I say lets all remove the warning labels and let nature take its course.

Winchester model 70 .223 Ackley. Put a Konus M30 4-16X on it. It's one of my favorite rifles (along with all the rest of my rifles)
