My "Even longer range" gun is done, for now. Eventually it will go in an AX chassis, and have a SPUHR mount just like my 308, but for now it will be WAY more than good enough.

    Specs:
Remington XCR Long Range in 300WM w/ 1:10 5R fluted heavy barrel
Bell & Carlson Mini-Chasis full length aluminum v-bed stock
    Harris LM-S 9-13 Swivel/Cant leg notch Bipod
    Timney 510 Trigger at 1lbs
    Warne Steel 20MOA Base
Surgeon 34mm Rings with bubble level
Schmidt-Bender PMII 5-25x56 Scope with P4 fein reticle
    KRG bolt on knob extender.

The loads I am working on for this will be supersonic still at 2000yds.... 208gr .648bc bullet over ~80-81grs Retumbo at 2900-2950fps.

Sorry Mike my camera died, took a while to convince the wife I could use hers without killing it! Anyway, here's what were looking at. 6mm Creedmoor, built on a Badger 2013 action, Bartlein barrel 1-8 twist, HV contour, threaded and capped. Bedded into a McMillan A5, with a custom LOP, Badger M5 with a Timney 510 trigger, Atlas bipod. .338 Lapua Mag, built on a Badger 2013 XL action, Kreiger HV contour 1-9.75 twist, Thunder Beast muzzle brake/ suppressor mount. Bedded into a McMillan A5, custom LOP, Badger M5 CIP, Timey 510 trigger and Atlas bipod. The .338 was cereakoted Patriot brown, and the 6mm in Magpul Foliage green. Was going to finish painting a few things before I posted, but whatever, Mikes angry, no one likes Mike when he's angry!

Mind if I ask what the color percentages on the stocks are? I'm getting ready to order an A5 real soon and looking for a good idea of the mix that I want. Your 6CM stock is VERY close to what I'm looking for.

    BTW VERY nice boom sticks.

You can touch'em Mike, as long as you use that magic touch you have! XC700, let me pull my invoice and I'll let you know what I choose on colors and percentage.

    .260 Remington build is complete:

It started with a R700 that wouldn't give up the barrel. No problem, just give a tiny bit of the heat, and off it comes!

It's a little dirty, so lets just clean it right out.

The lower lug had good contact, but the upper lug had (guess-timating) less than 20% engagement area. Hand lapping will help with that. The receiver was less than .0005" off from concentric, so no need to thrown it in a lathe.

A little bit of friction in the bolt was causing a binding in the cocking action. A couple turns with a strop, and all is well.

    Time for the barrel install.

Bigger recoil lug on the right, because why not.

Close up of the barrel nut system.

    It's not very short.

    The gun, as it sits...

Just doing what I can to stay on this side of the dirt.

Recently sold off my AICS stock and picked up a XLR. Wanted something lighter. Getting to old to hump a 17lb+ rifle around! Rifle as pictured weighs 13.7, 24" medium palma barrel. Balances well. Happy with the XLR stock, fit/finish is very good. The inlet for the action is CNC'd for a true 1-1 fit, not a "V" block. Shot the last Raton match with it, did OK, stunk it up on stage 7, new stock didn't help me out there!

Just hit the 8000rd mark on the Bighorn action. Action is silly smooth.
