If I get my scanner up and working I will post some picks of when I replaced the quarters on my mustang.

Sorry to hear about the smash-up.

Anyways, thats an unusual way to make power from a mustang. Most people just play with a 5.0.

I have thought about buying an SVO to play with. They seem like a very cheap way to play with big boost. Right now I run 19psi on my car (and would like to go to 25ish) but get afraid that I will really screw something up and it will cost a bunch.

Turbos are VERY difficult to run the 1/4 mile with. What I have found is you either spin or bog.

My thoughts of an SVO are but a distant dream. If I even THINK about another car, I may not live through it. The wife will tell me to be happy with what I have or get rid of something.

    KC - that'd be great.

It's very unusual. I started out with the 4-cylinder car when I was 17 and just decided to do things differently.

I ran one of my buddies' SVO's at Bandi last year and went anywhere from 15.8 to 17.0 in the same night. Only made 2 or 3 runs since it was Club Clash, but I'd either bog it or spin (mostly bog).

You gotta throw some big boost numbers at the 2.3T; getting power out of an 8v iron head that flows like ass and was designed in the '70s takes some heavy breathing. My buddy was running 25-30 psi from a Holset on his '84 Turbo GT before he wrecked it.

    What d'you drive now?

My slow ride is a 944 Turbo. Makes about 300rwhp from a 8V 4-cylinder. I have run 14.5s@104 at Bandimere with it. I can't get enough traction. The mph is there, just don't have enough traction off the line. I am running an old school turbo on it and poor chips. With a little more tuning there is 40-50hp more there, I just run it really rich to avoid problems.

Also, the wife doesn't think I need to spend more money on it. I only get away with spending so much on a toy. She somehow thinks I have too many toys.

I tend to bounce from project to project so she gets tired of my playing around. Last project was a jeep.

    Now the fast ride...

Sadly no, I'm quite a ways away from that still. I need to obtain the police report so I can fax it to the ins. company so they can verify that the uninsured motorist coverage will cover this incident, and then we'll move from there with the total loss adjuster, $$, etc. The Denver PD is gay though, because even in this digital age, I have to send a SASE with $10 enclosed to get the damn police report.  So once that happens and I can fax it to the insurance company, then things should start moving again.

I dont know how denver does it but their reports probably are not electronic. And they have to print you off a copy of the report anyways they cant give you an electronic copy of it if it is electronic.

So did you find you some good quarters at least?
