    Sorry if I wasn't clear. I wasn't disputing that there were no background checks until temporary brady in 95, simply reaffirming that for the period from when background checks started until 12/98, a Colorado CCW exempted the holder from a background check.

    I remember buying my first .22 at 18 from a Western Auto store. They checked my DL, I filled out the yellow sheet, and walked out in ten minutes with a Savage/Stevens 987 tube mag autoloader and two bricks of super-x for $85.

    Alas, the yellow sheets are no more - 4473's are white these days.

    I noticed they changed them when I seen another guy filling them out. I guess I will have to go buy a gun so I can see what the new form is all about.... :wink:
