Pretty similar looking. The Strider is clearly better-constructed. I guess time will tell if it's 7x better-constructed.

I haven't torture-tested it or anything, but I am liking this SnG.
It's noticeably lighter than the SBMF.
The ball-detent made it a little difficult to open at first, but it's breaking-in nicely.
For some reason I keep thinking it would be a neat design for a double-action auto conversion.
At this point, I'm thinking "cool knife -- but it'd be better if it only cost $200".

I'm sorry, one of those knives costs more than $200? Is it made of unobtanium.
didn't Buck buy Strider ?
I know that Strider was a good quality knife a while back.
It's interesting to me that most "gun people" aren't "knife people" as well.Originally Posted by rtr
Also surprising to me, is that most hunters aren't "gun people" either.

I got the SMF-R.
Michael, that S&W Model 357PD HIVIZ in .41mag is SWEET. Nice, well done pic, too. Thanks for posting.
I've had a low grade curiosity/interest in the .41mag caliber for 20 years or so. Always thought if I found the right single action Ruger in .41mag that I may have to scratch that itch.
But seeing yours...well. Seems like a great combination of features.
How do you like it? Is the .41mag managable in that Airlight frame?
Best regards,

Your Buck Strider is the same as what i have. I got it cheap on ebay, and i do like it. However it doesnt hold a flame to the Strider knives.
I had to file down the plastic scales quite a bit, if you own one and put you hand in the same pocket that the knife is in, you get a decent nuckle "road rash" scrape.I used an emory board, its wayyyy better now.
Nice wheel gun too!
