    Default Leupold Varmint Hunter's Reticle

I was looking at the new VX-L scopes. Either the 4.5-14x50mm with the 1" tube, or the 4.5-14x56mm with the 30mm tube.

This is for a that elusive .243 plinker I keep talking about.

Anyway, I noticed this reticule. I've got a Nightforce 3.5-15x50mm with the NP-R2 reticle on my 700P and I really like it. Just thinking this might take some of the work out of it for me.

IMHO, if you go with the larger objectives, ya gotta have the larger tube (ie- 30mm)

    I don't see any weight listed, but I'd expect a substantial difference between the 1", 50mm and the 30mm + 56mm.

    I've got a 4-14x56 on my .308 PSS. it's big!

if you're going for larger glass up front, I HIGHLY suggest you get the most out of having that up there, that means a bigger tube to pass more of that light to your eye... just to pick a number, anything over 45mm OBJ, go with larger tube.

My .223 has a smaller obj and uses 1" tube.

do you really nead a 56mm OBJ on a .243?
(not that you cant have what ever you want on it)
