What can anyone tell me about this rifle. No experience with it. The size is appealing, breaks down, although high in price. I also like that it is tube fed, but I think it is ammo specific(short, long, long rifle). Any thoughts gents?

Very nice little rifles. I prefer the Browning, but Norinco made a copy 10 or 15 years ago that seems to have received good reviews. Expect to pay $225 to $250 for the Norinco. Also, if you are a Remington guy look at the 241 as it's the Browning patent. They are usually in the $500 plus price range, but if I recall right have a longer barrel.
The Brownings were made in both Japan and Belgium. Both are good shooters, but Belgium made are more collectable. At least three grades were made depending on the vintage. Worn Japanese guns start at $300ish on the very low end, but you can get upwards of $5,000 for a factory engraved Belgium that is signed. Factory browning cases can add hundreds as well, depending on the vintage. Early tan cases can run $600-$800 depending on the hardware.
Excellent choice in a small, compact little rifle. NOTE: There is an adjustment ring that tightens the barrel on the reciever, if you get one don't tighten it down too much as it will no longer be a take down rifle.![]()
Nice, I was unaware of the variations. I would mostly be interested in a basic shooter. I learned that it was Brownings last firearm or patent he designed. The only other info found was that they were "good little shooters." Thanks for the detailed info.

fun fun fun little rifle
snaps right to your shoulder, small and lithe (really good for smaller people (women, kids, etc), very light, decent sights,
the one bad thing is that it's hard to tell if it's loaded (it ejects down, so you have to flip it over to really see in to see if ti's loaded.
i've got 2.
just all JMB guns, they just work.
