    Default AK47 Build Party Interest?

Ok after seeing the build threads on ar15.com and here, a few buddies and i are interested in a build also. problem is we know nothing about how to actually build it.

My friend has an automotive repair/performance shop and he's willing to host it there on a weekend. There are basic automotive tools in the shop like a drill, press, welder, etc.

We need someone willing to assist and guide us through the build. And looking for somone that has a jig for the flats.

Anyone on here ready for another build???

I'd be down for a build. If I can find a good deal I'll be picking up a kit at Tanner this weekend. I haven't built one before, though.

Building one is harder than you think if it's your first build.... but you learn so much... it's facinating... i know how my ak actually works and everything that makes it tick.... it's possibly the simplest gun yet i never knew how complicated it really was till i built one.... I think it's turned out to be a success but i gotta give it a final test fire at the range to be sure....

Willyswagon hosted a AK build party, he might be able to help you guys out he knows lots of people, and he knows lots on the ak build himself...

I personally ran into lots of problems when building my ak... probobly all the probs you could ever run into LOL... if you have any questions feel free to ask me, i'll let you know what i can... cause i surley learned allot. Also a tip, dont worry to be forcefull at times... somtimes its the only way especially when making the barrel fit to your trunion... hehe

You just explained the reason that I want to build my own. It's the same reason that I want to build my AR when I get around to getting one of those. Learning how to shoot these things is easy. Learning the intrinsic details of how they operate takes a little more effort but it's great knowledge to have.

is there a reason all the builds have been down in the springs? is the owner of the jig located in the springs?

All of the cool people live down here, there is hardly anything left but assholes in the "big city"

I'm chickenshit to live fire my Romy G build, maybe with a long string tied to the trigger and someone else pulling on it

Don't be chickenshit about firing your AK. If it is made completely half assed it won't fail on the first shot anyway it will fall apart during the break in period. I know I've done that way. Turns out I didn't heat treat the receiver.
