    Default FFL holders?

I am new to Colorado from Alaska, and I need to have my pistol transferred down to me. Does anyone in the Denver/Littleton/Englewood area have an FFL and would be willing to help me out? Send me a PM.

I mentioned this in your 'New Member' thread, but I'll post it here too. If it's your pistol and you're moving to CO, why can't you just have it shipped to your home address via FedEx? You're moving your property from one state to another and we don't have gun registration in CO. Is this some type of specially restricted firearm?

Just an ordinary pistol. My understanding is that it must be shipped from one FFL holder to another via UPS or Fedex next day. If someone has documentation that says I don't need that it would be even better. My parents have the gun back home, and because they are the law abiding types, they won't send it unless it's all legal and above board.

    From BATF website
(B11) May a person who is relocating out-of-state move firearms with other household goods?

Yes. A person who lawfully possesses a firearm may transport or ship the firearm interstate when changing his or her state of residence. Certain NFA firearms must have prior approval from the Bureau of ATF, NFA Branch, Washington, DC 20226, before they may be moved interstate. The person must notify the mover that firearms are being transported. He or she should also check state and local laws where relocating to ensure that movement of firearms into the new state does not violate any state law or local ordinance. [18 U. S. C. 922( a)( 4), 27 CFR 178.28 and 178.31]

But that is pertaining to shipping via a mover, not sure if that means you can mail it or not.

Legally. You can send it via UPS/FedEx. But they have their own rules as well. ME? I'd ship it and mark the package as "machined parts". That's what I've done when shipping NFA items. Karl.

I've shipped machine parts too. A good old American made heavy metal pump.

I really don't see the problem if the owner is the recipient.
