Default Places to shoot other than CC?

I went to Cherry Creek over the weekend to sight in my new AR-15, becasue that was the closest spot I knew of from Westminster. I spent $9 to get in the park and another $20+ to stand in line and wait for an opening!!!!
There has to be a better option. I have been to LHC, but thought it closed. Is there a gun club near by Denver North or any other option someone knows about?

I'm in the same boat up here. I really miss the old range that used to be on Highway 7,10 minutes from me.There's clubs you can join but that's not an option for me right now. I go to Cherry Creek during the week if I have to shoot [ROFL1
Check out the "places to shoot" sub forum here and you may find something that works for you. Good Luck
Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to Fight, he'll just kill you.

There's a thread listing just about every gun range in the state. It's better than the NRAs range list for the state. The thread is in the Place to Shoot section.
Mom's comin' 'round to put it back the way it ought to be.

It's a great map but it makes me sad to see just how far away all the outdoor ranges are from me...even private ones.
