A fox ran out from under my truck as I was walking out to it last night. I drew my 1911 and looked for it for a few min but it disappeared into the brush.
So uh... are foxes legal to hunt?

"I swear to god officer it lunged at me and the only thing I could see in my mind is that video of the wild dogs chewing on that elk carcass. I was so Terrified, Ive never been attacked by a carnivorous predator before!"
Don't know if it's legal or not.... but it's just a fox, why the instinctive "shoot it" mentality? Was it bothering you? Did it hurt your truck, kill your cat, etc?... let it be.
But that's just me... I don't hunt if unless I need the meat, etc.
This post sounds very... worked up, mean, etc. Don't mean it that way... honestly.

I Agree that unless the Fox is being a menace (Destroying Property, livestock, Pets, Kids) There's no need to kill it.
In most Cases a fox is beneficial to the area as they Cull the rodent/Pest populations. Unfortunately they also cull local outdoor pet populations as well.
My initial post was intended as a joke. I apologize that it seems to have missed.
This did make me think of South Park "It's coming straight for us!!"

We have alot of foxes. Foxy lives under a shed we have and every year shows off her new litter.
In the summer they all play with one of our cats or lay in the sun together.
Don't have a mouse problem per se, and they are fun to watch. Don't hink even the big males are able to get our cats. Heck they don't even mess with the squirrells.
Several foxes in my neighborhood, wife saw one walking down the street with a bloody rabbit in it's mouth a few months ago.
They are legal to hunt but not in the city and I agree to not shoot them unless they are posing a threat.
They are legal to hunt. But check with DOW first. I dont know if you just need a small game license? Or a fur bearers also!! I do know that if you befriend them, the little Bastards will mark territory to beat SHIT! The one's I have got into my dog room, ate my dog's food and Shit in front of the dog door!! I dont know what happened to him???![]()
