I finally had a chance to visit 5280 on two separate occasions. I have to say both visits were very pleasant experiences. Both times the staff were very friendly and very helpful. One of my co-workers was with me and wanted to handle a wide variety of ARs and optics. The guy behind the counter was happy to oblige and brought out a steady stream of items for him to handle and answered all questions in a friendly manner. The only rule was only one item out at a time. A rule I can totally understand.

As for the CC upcharge, meh. While I do find it a bit odd, I have the choice of paying it or not. And it's not like it's a surprise. The policy is posted in the store. Whether or not it violates some CC company policy, that's between 5280 and the CC companies. I could care less. It's not like they're tacking on 3% without telling you.
