Pawnee? Good luck. I've been up there many times calling. I called some pups and just watched them. Only have seen 2 nice shootable dogs up there and they hauled ass at the first movement, probably were 200 yards away when they saw something they didn't like and they took off like racehorses, they were beautiful though. My feeling is that life is tough in Pawnee and they probably get shot at alot. Not a good environment so they move to the city where life is easier.
We camped up there once to hunt yotes the next day and the night was full of howls, but they're very wary up there.
I hope you have better luck than my son and I.

Oh, can you tell me more about the Bass Pro seminar?

Default Pawnee National Grasslands near Greely

I was referring to the Pawnee National Grasslands near Greely. He said to hunt on the edges near private land and called them in. He said he has hunted there for years and had some success prior to getting permission to hunt on private land.
He suggested that area because it was some what close to Denver to go hunt. He wasnt specific about anyone place in Pawnee.
As far as the discussion/seminar at Bass Pro, my wife found it when she went to hunter safety class last week. It was a good refresher, general discussion about how to call, where to call and how to hunt them in general.
I purchased the Remingtom AR-15 a month ago and want to use it to hunt small varmits. I went to see what I can find out about hunting coyotes and where to go.

I want to try calling some in on my place up there. About how far away do they come from when you call them? I know there are a ton of Antelope up there, so I just assume that there are coyotes around. I actually saw one up there last night about 1:00.

We hunt several private properties that border it. Its hit or miss. Sometimes we hit 3 different properties before calling them in. On a no wind good day you can call them from a long damn ways away! I may go next weekend.

Are there any other predators up there? Well, besides the birds.
