Default sears, recievers, lightning links oh my

ok, ive been thinking about this and im not sure exactly what a sear gun is. i mean i know its i gun with a dropin auto sear, but is it select fire? i would think you drop in a auto sear and its on and off. theres no select fire switch. it would be obvious that an original MG or MG reciever would have the select fire switch. and what exactly is a lightning link. thanks. i gotta win the lottery or something so i can get one of thses things.

A lightening link is two pieces of metal very simple device that you drop in a AR15 and it runs full auto. You can make a lightening link select fire useing modified 3rnd burst parts. A LL simply go's over the disconect and has a paddle that sticks up between the bolt carrier and the rear take down lug. (Note you have to have a SP1 style carrier) when the bolt go's home it hits the paddle and the lower piece pulls the disconect back releasing the hammer.

A drop in auto sear which is what I have requires all the M16 fire control parts as well as the carrier to work. The drop in sear simply takes the place of the factory M16 sear and makes the gun select fire just like an M16. The reason there is no such thing as a registered M16 sear is because it is a felony to drill a hole in a reciever therefore M16 sears are not regulated.

If you come to the shoot this saturday or any of the shoots I attend for that matter I can show you my gun.

Here is a link that will explain everything to help you understand.

LOL you are the second newbie this week to ask me that. If you look in the club shooting events you will see we have monthly shoots. There is a sticky giving dates as well as a thread for the shoot this saturday up in ST. Vrains canyon.

Next month the shoot will be down in Woodland Park.

yeah, i saw it after i posted. the one this month seems like a bit of a haul for me from CS, but i might be able to meke the on in wooodland park next month, it would be fun. all i got is an sks and a 10/22, but hey theyve given me hours of shooting enjoyment for very little invested. cant go wrong with that. there are other things on the list for sure, but lack of funds at the time preclude them.

Nobody cares what you have or don't have it's all for the fun of shooting. Since your in the springs you should plan on the WP shoot next month. Plus you get a chance to shoot many other guns that others have. We all share. [wink]
