They are asking a lot of money, months ahead of time, for a place that isn't built yet. That just doesn't sit right with me.

It appears to be targeting the "country club" crowd. The population here may be enough to support that, presumably they have done research. Not having the po' folk as customers might work out pretty well for their bsusiness plan.

We'll see how it turns out when (if) they finally finish construction. Maybe it will be Disneyland for shooters and I'll cancel the cable to pay for a membership.

It is expensive for most but I've been looking at the time and money I spend to drive to NF or Rampart (as long as its open) and see after the upfront investment $20 a month with no fees and 5 minutes from the house its not that bad, considering I pay minimum of $40 worth of gas a month. Problem for me is I'll still go up there shooting at least once a month with friends that have no way of affording a membership so I'll wait and see for a while I guess.

Should be interesting, but I'm in that "po' folk" category so it honestly doesn't matter a whole lot to me. Karl.

It looks elitist, and I don't tend to care for that type of club.

(overheard at WPGC) "Muffy, oh Muffy would you please hand me the HK." "Oh sure Biff, here you go"

At those rates, assuming all 2,500 members were individuals, not family memberships, they'd recoup their 3m investment in less then 3 years. Not including sales of guns, ammo, supplies, training, and extra guest passes. And I'm even a free market economy believer, but how many businesses have you heard of that recouped their investment that quickly?

And please....$25 bucks for a 1 time use guest pass? [roll] You can get a hooker for that much. (Ok it's a crack whore hooker but still)

    Hi all,
We were some of the early members. Talked to them at a gun show. My wife and I are as green as you can get when it comes to guns. We both took the Practical Pistol NRA course there and shoot at least once a week now. In 45 minutes you can shoot until your hand is falling off. With the mechanical targets, the line is always hot. Shoot, shoot, shoot. It's 25 yards but that's plenty for a handgun. Ordered an RRA Elite Car Ute2 chrome lined from them. Still waiting, but will definately want to shoot outdoors, but can shoot at WPGC after work in winter-dark and cold-I'll be inside in a t-shirt. It's spendy but for me being so new to the gun thing(truly an old dog learning new tricks),it works for us because it's so convenient. Like I said, reserve a lane for an hour, and all you're doing is shootin for an hour, no down time.

    My 2c,

    Paul

I shoot a lot, and it is still too expensive for me. It looks like a real nice place, but like was said earlier, it isn't for the "po" folk. It would be great in the winter to have an indoor range to shoot at, but I think I'll pass at those prices.
