Anything i need to know about North Site?
So i'm going to head up to the North Site this Friday. I have read on here the directions and i'm pretty confident on how to get to the area. Once i arrive, anything i need to know specifically? Things like where to park, what to bring, how many people to expect on a Friday, how far of a hike in is it, am i likely to run into a Ranger/LEO, any specific laws/regs i need to be aware of, is it pretty obvious where the actual shooting spot is, ect? First time shooting on public land and since i've never been i just want to know what to expect. Looked around here extensively and couldn't really find the answers a novice such as myself to CO shooting is looking for.
Thanks

There is parking right there and directly across the highway. It's a short walk in, and it's obvious where to shoot. There's a forest service employee -- an older man -- who often stops by with or without his dog to see who's there and to apprise them of the following, which is common sense for most people: Don't shoot at live trees. Do shoot into the berms, as there are homes over the hills.
It can be fairly windy up there.

Thanks vim, i won't freak out if i see an old man and a dog coming at me. My buddies flaked on me so not sure i'm going tomorrow. Made a target stand yesterday and everything
Who knows, maybe i'll go anyways to check it out. Had planned on going all week.

Witness Protection Reject
Stopped there once with the wife and grandkid, coming home from Estes Park. There's only two parking spots at the entrance to the place, we had to park across the highway. Main thing I didn't like was having to tote alla yer crap in. If you want a table, several guns, accessories, cooler, etc., ya gotta haul it all in a piece at a time. And you can't keep an eye on your wheels either.
At the South location down above Woodland Park, you can pretty much back your truck up where you want it and work right out of the back. Far easier, IMO. But the road in is kinda iffy.

I'll update for anyone who reads this in the future.
Headed up there, was about 50 minutes from 120th/I-25, nice drive. Was easy to find, approx 14 miles from where you make a left in Lyons. Parked right in front of the entrance. There was a sign there saying it was legal to shoot (which put me at ease). It's a large area. Shells/brass everywhere so it's kind of hard to tell where everyone shoots at exactly. Few small berms along the edge, few scattered as you near the back. We went all the way to the back and shot into the largest berm there. Set up about 50yds back, and just moved in closer for pistol shooting. No one there the entire time we were there except a fella collecting brass. Said hello, not much more. It was windy and chilly (plus flurries, heavier at times) which made things interesting. It's a short walk up, but bring a dolly or wagon or something if you have anything to haul, the two of us needed 2 trips and we didn't have much. Some junk in the area, some downed trees from being shot, made me feel a little bad as these sites might not be around forever with actions like that. Anyways, had a great time, easy to find, and since no one was there we just set up where we wanted, didn't have to worry about anyone else.
