I have a SOG Seal Pup which I really like. It is big enough to get the job done and small enough to not be burdensome. I used to have the Gerber LMF, which is a really awesome knife...I just thought it was too big and bulky

I carry a Benchmade nitrous striker with me at all times, and keep a Kabar in the pack. I also have some older Western knives made right here in Longmont that keep an edge like nothing I've ever seen.

What's the difference between the LMF Infantry and the LMF ASEK? ASEK is about 50 bucks more on this site, looks to be the same thing though???

I don't see any notable difference at that web page picture so I'm not sure.I did get the ASEK model from LAPG for about $68 though.

This is a good thread. I've been wanting to hear some good knife info. Keep it coming.

x3 on the Seal pup, I bought the elite model last spring, and took it on several camping trips, doing everything from cutting cord to chopping branches for firewood. Its still as sharp as the day I got it. The nylon sheath has a nice sized pouch on the front that I keep a firestarter and sharpening stone in. I have been eyeballing the Gerber LMF II tho, may be one of my next purchases.
